Following the success of our first edition, the 2nd International Symposium on AI Applied to the Demographic Challenge is consolidating itself as an international meeting point for sharing knowledge, driving collaborations and generating real solutions to major demographic challenges.

Presentation formats

Presentations may be delivered in Spanish or English.

Scientific contribution

Papers may be submitted as a 4- or 8-page article, accompanied by an 8-minute oral presentation, followed by 5 minutes for questions.

Participants must submit a poster together with a video of no more than 3 minutes.

Proposals aligned with the Chair's research lines will be prioritised, including:

Artificial Intelligence and health

Development of AI-based solutions to drive a predictive, personalised and preventive healthcare model.

Depopulation and territorial cohesion

Artificial Intelligence applications aimed at revitalising rural areas and facilitating the delivery of public services.

Agrotech

Use of Artificial Intelligence to increase the efficiency, sustainability and productivity of the primary sector.

Education and employability in the demographic transition

Artificial Intelligence tools for training, professional qualification and digital inclusion.

Demographic modelling and analysis with AI

Application of Artificial Intelligence to understand, model and anticipate population dynamics from different perspectives — economic, social and anthropological.

Ethics, sustainability and governance

Ethical and responsible frameworks for the application of Artificial Intelligence in contexts of social and demographic change.

Digital Transformation

Driving the digitalisation of public administrations, companies and services through Artificial Intelligence, to improve efficiency and reduce the digital divide in territories most affected by depopulation.

Proposals other than those described above may also be submitted, provided they are aligned with the goal of the DemIA Chair: to promote territorial cohesion and, with it, environmental sustainability and human habitability through the new technologies offered by AI.

Acceptance notification

People whose proposals are selected will be notified on 20 October 2026, and must submit their full paper before 27 November.

Use of AI in submissions

The use of generative AI tools is permitted as support for writing, translation or language review, always with a mandatory declaration stating the tool used and its purpose.

Attending the symposium is free, but requires prior registration.

You will receive a certificate of attendance.

Awards and certificates


All participants will receive a certificate recognising their contribution to the Symposium.

In addition, the Scientific Committee will award a prize to the best proposal in each category, recognising the quality, originality and applicability of the submitted work:
